It's Okay Friday!

It’s Okay…
*To have loved the movie Dolphin Tale. LOVED IT. It made me want to run to Florida immediately to meet Winter (the dolphin’s name who the story is based on). It also gave me the fever to go swimming with the dolphins in December!

*To hate yoga. I still go and do it and give it 100% but I pretty much hate it. Number one, I am not flexible enough for most of the poses. Number two, even if I was flexible enough my fat gets in the way. Number three, I lack balance. I nearly fell over in class this week.

*To be unable to say no to the cute little boy scout with glasses and a slight lisp politely asking me if I’d like to buy some popcorn to support cub scouts. For you little man? I’d love to.

*To have discovered I am not that good at crafts last night at our church activity. I painted a Santa and he sorta looks like a zombie, but to also be totally okay with it because it was sure a lot of fun to hang out with the ladies.

*To be ridiculously sore from Turbo Kick yesterday. I am telling you what, that class is going to give me a bikini body...if I don’t die first.

*To be annoyed I had to have my blood drawn and a full panel done in order to get my insurance discount. The good news is I have a clean bill of health. The bad news is that I can’t blame my chunkiness on my thyroid since I now have concrete proof that the thyroid is working marvelously. Oh, and according to the nurse my cholesterol level is “fantastic.” Does that mean I can eat more cheeseburgers?

*To hate the fact that a trim costs 40 bucks. For goodness sakes I just want an inch off the bottom. 40 bucks should get me a whole new haircut and a style!

*To be looking forward to church from home in my pj’s this weekend.

*To be looking forward to two weekend trips in October, one to the in-laws and one to visit mi padre and my grandparents. It's going to be a good month.
Happy Weekend!!

Who Doesn't Love Food?

I was super excited about today's questions because I pretty much love food! Link up with Mamarazzi and Alicia aka Queso if you love food, too!

{1} What is one thing (food or drink) that you MUST have everyday?
I drink at least 90 ounces of water a day. No lie. I am the water queen. If I miss it even for like the afternoon than I end up with chapped lips. It takes a lot to keep me hydrated!

{2} What is your "go to" food when you don't feel well/need comfort?
Soup, soup and soup...with some oyster crackers. I am not a picky soup eater, I will eat pretty much any flavor ESPECIALLY if someone brings it right to my sick bed!

{3} Is there a dish that you make that people request when they visit your home/a family favorite?
Oh yes! Everyone asks for me to make my bacon wrapped Jalapeno poppers.  I learned how to make them from my aunt but for some reason I became the master and they are requested regularly! This isn't the best picture but here are the famous poppers next to the fruit.

{4} What are 3 foods you have TRIED, do not like and will NEVER eat again?
Brussel Sprouts (they were soooooo yucky bitter!), Grits (I know this will outrage the Southerners but I can't handle the texture!) and last but not least: Dark Chocolate (I pretty much don't like chocolate anyway but this crap was nasty!)
{5} What's one thing that you love to eat that most people would think is weird and/or gross??
Cream Cheese, but not in the sense of using it IN something. I am talking about straight up, right out of the package cream cheese in slices.

It's Okay Friday

It's Okay...

*To be dying to see that new movie called "Dolphin Tail"...I am totally going to cry and it is going to be awesome.

*To be so excited for making new friends over ice cream sundays, girl chat and Grey's Anatomy and to be surviving on 4 hours of sleep as a result of it. Best. Late. Night. Ever.

*To be undecided on the X Factor. I thought the whole live audience during the audition process was a bit much, and hello Simon Cowell stop being nice!

*To be so excited for the game this weekend...Cowboys take on the Huskers and no matter what happens it will be a fun time!

*To be freaking out that I cruise in 78 days, I am not tan, my wardrobe is not planned, and I have about 18 pound to lose still. OMG.

*To occasionally miss a good diet soda.  I have sips from the hubs when the urge strikes so I don't cave and drink a whole one.

*To be depressed our theatre didn't get The Lion King in 3D. I was dying to see it on the big screen again.

*To miss dating the hubs.  Since school started we have neither the time nor the money to go on a good date, but a girl can dream. I guess in December we will have date nights compliments of Carnival.

*To fantasize about winning the lottery (even though I live in Wyoming and NEVER play) and know exactly where my first few million would go.

Happy Weekend!!

My Guilty TV pleasures

When I saw the questions this week, I almost skipped them because seriously, I'm ashamed! I need therapy! Link up with Mamarazzi and Alicia aka Queso if you dare to divulge such shameful information...

{1} What is your MUST SEE show?
I can't seriously answer this question! I have, like, a lot of MUST SEE shows! I can't miss Grey's - it messes up my life. I will also have a melt down if I miss Private Practice. I always watch Desperate Housewives - especially this season because it is ending! (Insert intense weeping and wailing her - we've been BFF for 7 years!) Then you have Dexter, Drop Dead Diva, Against the Wall and Army Wives. Then there are the Food Network shows I love and the reality shows. Holy crap, I love me some reality TV! Like American Idol, The X Factor, Top Shot, Dancing with the Stars, The Biggest Loser, The Sing Off, The Bachelor franchise....there are just too many.

{2} What shows are you most excited to watch this season?
Definitely Desperate Housewives because I am dying to see how they wrap it all up. Also, the X Factor. I love me some Simon Cowell but I am not so sure what he was thinking when he picked the other judges. Oh! Even thought it isn't a show, I am loving me some fall NFL.

{3} How many hours a week do you actually watch TV?
Way too many. I refuse to figure it all out because then I would be shamed into giving up some of my shows and I am not going to do that. I figure once I start popping out babies than I won't be able to watch as much so I better love them now. Besides, I NEVER, EVER watch live TV. I am all about my DVR. Than I can fast forward through commercials and any other stupid things I think are happening during the show.

{4} Do you think TV has gotten too "racy" (vulgar, pushing the limit, etc) ?
Mmmmhmmm, mmmmhmmmm. I mean there are plenty of things that could be left out.  Maybe I will kill the cable when I have kids, channel surfing has become dangerous!

{5} How many TVs do you have in your house?
Four, one for each bedroom and the living room. The hubs said he wanted our guest rooms to be like going to a hotel. I wonder what he's going to do when we turn one of them into a nursery?

Road Trips?!

I have been a blogging failure lately...a lot has been happening in my life and then I got super sick so I figured what better way to catch up than to link up with Mamarazzi and Alicia aka Queso for We Want to Know Wednesday.

{1} What are 3 must haves for a long road trip?
Well I always have to pack my own snacks.  Before I was dieting, this was easy. The answer was Diet Coke, Zingers and a Slim Jim. However, since I decided I shouldn't look like a chunker on our cruise, diet coke has been replaced with water - lots and lots of water. The Slim Jims and Zingers have been replaced with fresh fruit and veggies. If I pack lots of healthy, crunchy stuff to munch on I won't cave and buy bad-for-you treats at the gas stations. Oh and music. If I bundle the snacks into one must have I can make music my 3rd!

{2} What was the destination of your most recent road trip?
The Mile High City (Denver, CO) for a production of Les Miserables...which was PHENOM.

{3} What do you miss most about home when on a trip?
My bed! This is going to make me sound like such a snot but I have really lovely, expensive, high-quality bedding and a mattress to die for. Even the fancy hotels leave something to be desired of my sleeping experience.

{4} What is the furthest you have traveled on a road trip?
Oh goodness...I would say 800 miles? I am not totally certain but I would be willing to bet the longest I traveled was when I went and bought the bean and had to drive it 800 plus miles back to Wyoming.

{5} Will you "stop for the largest ball of twine, etc" or are you a "hurry and get there" road tripper?
I am totally a hurry and get there kind of gal.  Unless there is a restaurant along the way that has been featured on the Food Network. If that is the case I will starve an additional 4 hours just to wait for that particular restaurant to eat lunch. For the most part though, when I am road tripping, the exciting stuff is whomever or whatever is waiting for me at my destination so I skip the land marks.

It's Okay Friday

It's Okay...

*To think that Cinnamon Burst Cheerios are the best cereal on the planet.

*To think that Lady Gaga's weird man thing at the VMA's was totally ridiculous.  That isn't talent, that is bizarre behavior.

*To like the new series on Lifetime called "Against the Wall" and force the hubs to watch it with me, too.

*To scream out loud in the movie theatre during a scary movie, like I did last night at Fright Night.

*To enjoy baking - I am going to make the hubs a peach cobbler tonight.

*To leave my whites in the dryer all week. They are the last load I do and they can be wrinkled because they all go UNDER the clothes I already washed, folded or hung up.

*To be excited for football to actually start because pre-season is lame.

*To be in love with Duchess Kate's wardrobe, she's so classy and modest!

*To be looking forward to a three-day weekend for no other reason than it means I will get to sleep in one of those days!

Happy Weekend!!
